Australia has overwhelmingly rejected the Voice to Parliament, but there were a few areas which voted Yes.

Affluent electorates in Sydney‘s eastern suburbs strongly supported the proposed change to the Constitution, along with voters on the city’s northern beaches.

The Prime Minister’s own seat of Grayndler in Sydney’s inner west also resoundingly voted Yes.

But across the rest of Sydney and the rest of New South Wales, it was a clear No and a stark map reveals the clear divide.

While the count is still underway, it appears that every state will return a No vote.

The Australian Capital Territory however, is likely to vote Yes with about 65 per cent voting Yes with 16 per cent of the count complete.

The votes in territories will be included in the overall national tally, but for the referendum to succeed it will need the majority of states to vote Yes.
