Pro-Palestinian demonstrators have clashed with Jewish activists showing the faces of Israeli children kidnaped by Hamas on billboard vans.
The Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) said drivers of the vehicles were stopped by chanting anti-Israel protesters as they made their way through London on Thursday evening.
The organisation blasted the Metropolitan Police for its handling of the confrontation, claiming officers had told them to ‘turn off the billboards and clear out of central London’.
It came on the same night that multiple people were filmed in the capital ripping down flyers of children taken hostage by the terrorist group and smuggled to Gaza.
Footage circulating on social media showed one angry confrontation where a woman brazenly shouted ‘f*** Israel’ and mockingly said ‘go cry’ to upset British-Israeli activists.

The woman, who shouted ‘f*** Israel’ also appeared to mock the families of those who have had relatives kidnapped by feigning crying
In recent days Jewish activists have put up posters showing the youngsters’ faces, their names and ages, with the captions ‘kidnapped by Hamas’ and ‘#bring them back’.
The CAA said when it hired out billboard vans with these posters on, they were confronted by pro-Palestinian protesters and told by police they risked causing ‘a breach of the peace’.
In a video posted to X, CAA chief executive Gideon Falter said he was forcibly moved away from his drivers and then ‘restrained’ when he asked why they had to stop.
Mr Falter said: ‘How on earth could police stop people in central London, in our capital, from showing the pictures of children kidnapped by a terrorist organisation, banned by our government?’
Footage from the video shows a small group of pro-Palestine protesters stood in front of the van as it passed Big Ben and chanting: ‘One, two, three, four, occupation no more, five, six, seven, eight, Israel is a terrorist state.’
In a statement released on X, the Metropolitan Police said: ‘We have watched the video and we understand why this has caused concern.
‘The officers were in the area because of a vigil that was happening nearby organised by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
‘We have reviewed the body-worn video of the officers involved to establish the full sequence of events.
‘This exchange happened at around the same time as the vigil came to an end and the priority of officers was the safety of everyone involved and those nearby.
‘We will be making contact with the Campaign Against Antisemitism to discuss the matter further and update them on the work taking place across the Met to tackle hate crime.’
It is not the first time pro-Palestine activists have targeted people trying to raise awareness of Hamas’s crimes.
In shocking footage posted on social media on Thursday night, a horrified Jewish woman was seen being shouted at by a woman in London’s Baker Street who was tearing down flyers.

Police came under fire last night after forcing Jewish activists in London to switch off billboard vans displaying the faces of kidnapped Israeli children
In the video, the aggressor could be seen shouting ‘how about the Arab kids who are dead?’ before the activist quietly responds ‘I do [care about them]’.
However, this does not calm the other woman down, who shouts: ‘No you don’t, stop acting like a victim. Don’t f****** video me.’
The aghast woman responds ‘we just want them [the children] back home’.
But the aggressor rants back ‘I don’t care. F*** Israel. You’re pieces of s***. Go cry’ before making mock crying gestures and marching off.
The Metropolitan Police said it was aware of the video and ‘an investigation is under way’.
A spokesperson said: ‘Officers are carrying out enquiries to identify the woman removing the posters. If you can name her, please call 101 quoting CAD 7114/19Oct.’
There were similar scenes elsewhere in the capital, with footage showing another woman ripping down posters of missing Israeli children.
In the video the woman says ‘that’s fine by me’ when she’s accused of supporting terrorists.
MailOnline has contacted the Met Police about this video.
