Jonnie Irwin has paid a touching tribute to his wife Jessica Holmes as they went out for a romantic meal to celebrate their seventh wedding anniversary.

The A Place In The Sun presenter, 49, took to his Instagram on Sunday to share a snap of him and and his wife, 40, enjoying a creme brûlée at Mediterranean restaurant Lovage Desmond.

Jonnie looked laidback in a white jumper, while Jessica looked effortlessly stylish in a black button-up shirt as they indulged in a glass of fizz. 

The couple have been married since October 2016 and share three sons together, Rex, four, and three-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.

Jonnie, who is battling terminal lung cancer which has since spread to his brain, captioned the sweet snap: ‘Celebrated 7 years married to this Angel. I use this term because the love she shows to others is beyond comparison.

‘Last night was just us; chatting, planning and gossiping. So good. Amazing food and staff at @lovagejesmond made our evening perfect. #anniversary’.

It comes after Jonnie shared a health update last month, amid his terminal cancer battle, after first being diagnosed in 2020.

He shared a post to Instagram revealing he had undergone treatment at a wellness centre, while he awaited the results his latest scan.

Jonnie gave an insight into his day as he tries to ‘slow down the growth’ of his tumours with ‘various therapies.’

He shared a photo from outside Sereniti Health and Wellness before heading inside to be treated.  

Alongside the photos he wrote: ‘The wait for more scans is frustrating when you know the cancer is on the move again.’

Jonnie added: ‘Meanwhile there’s stuff I can do to make the terrain as tough as possible for growth and the ladies down at Sereniti Health and Wellness are part of my team of suppliers for various therapies.

‘I’d recommend this place to anyone wanting to tap into a healthier lifestyle. Big shout as always goes to @how_to_starve_cancer who’s constant help has a huge impact.’
