A family friend of kidnapped Charlotte Sena says he believes her abductor had to have been planning it and was ‘aware’ of her family before they visited the state park where she was snatched.
Charlotte was last night rescued from a cabinet in the backyard trailer where suspect Craig Ross. Jr. had been living. The 46-year-old is now in custody on first-degree kidnapping charges.
The nine-year-old girl was snatched at around 6.15pm on Saturday night from the Moreau Lake State Park where she was camping with her family.
Ross was caught after leaving a fingerprint on the ransom note he delivered to Charlotte’s parents’ house on Monday morning.
Family friend Patrick Kane says he believes the kidnapping was ‘premeditated’ and that Ross Jr. was ‘aware’ of the family

His trailer in his mother’s backyard is 13 miles from the Sena family home. His car is however listed to a property within 2 miles of the Sena home.
Speaking on FOX on Tuesday morning, Patrick Kane, a family friend, said: ‘It’s obvious he had some premeditated aspirations.
‘I think he may have been aware of them, I don’t know what we can share with you.’
He added that Charlotte was doing ‘very well’ after being reunited with her mother, Trisha, and father David.
All three rushed to a hospital in Albany last night after she was found. The child was described as ‘unharmed’ by police.
Ross Jr. remains in custody without bail.
