A social justice advocate was stabbed to death in New York City while waiting at a bus stop with his girlfriend during an unhinged, unprovoked attack.
Ryan Carson, 32, was stabbed in the chest at around 4am at a bus stop about a mile away at Lafayette Avenue and Malcom X Boulevard in Brooklyn. He was returning home after attending a wedding.
He was with his girlfriend when the suspect, wearing a dark colored sweatshirt with his hood up, approached him and asked, ‘What the f**k are you looking at?’ before violently stabbing Carson in the chest.
In footage obtained by the NYPost, the assailant can be seen kicking over scooters before turning on the couple.

The attacker can be heard saying ‘I’ll kill you!’ on camera while Carson pleads with him and holds up his hand.
His girlfriend can be heard in the security footage shouting:’Please, please, please!’
Carson falls over the bench he had been sitting on before the attacker knocks him to the ground and knifes him multiple times.
He then spits on the girlfriend, kicks Carson’s body and storms away.
Carson’s girlfriend held him in her arms before he was taken to Kings County Hospital Center, where he later died.
Carson worked as a senior solid waste campaign manager at the New York Public Interest Research Group – and was remembered as someone who tried to make the world a better place.
In a statement, NYPIRG called Carson ‘a beloved staffer, colleague and friend, and a creative, talented, relentless and upbeat advocate for students and the environment.’
Carson’s friend and roommate Tom Krantz, 31, told the Post it was remarkable ‘how much [Carson] actually did for the entire city and for his friends.
‘He’s really like the epicenter of an entire community that he created, that he brought together.

‘I don’t think anyone is exaggerating when they say he would give the shirt off his back. He was the guy that bent over backward time and time again to be there with his friends.’
State Assemblymember Emily Gallagher, a friend of Carson’s, said: ‘You know it’s hard when the person you go to to talk about grief is the one who died. It’s been really difficult to comprehend.’
New York City Council Member Chi Ossé also said: ‘I’m horrified to learn of the brutal murder of advocate Ryan Carson in Brooklyn today. This tireless defender of his neighbors was stolen from us. Committed to ending this senseless violence, my heart is with his family.’
No arrests have been made.
