It’s likely Americans were kidnapped and killed in Israel during Hamas’ massive terrorist attack launched on Saturday.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday that the U.S. is working to confirm reports that several Americans were murdered in the heinous attack by Palestinian terrorists.

‘Is there any indication that Americans were either killed or kidnapped by terrorists?’ CNN‘s Dana Bash asked Blinken.

‘Yes, we have reports that several Amerians were killed. We’re working overtime to verify that,’ President Joe Biden‘s top State Department official replied.

He added: ‘At the same time, there are reports of missing Americans. And, there again, we’re working to verify those reports.’

It comes after it was revealed Sunday morning that 600 Israelis are confirmed dead after just a single day of conflict – and more than 2,000 are injured. This does not include those still being held hostage by the terrorist group.

The death toll is by far the largest mass murder of Jewish people in a single day since World War II.

Hamas launched a surprise multi-front attack on Israel on Saturday – the 50 year anniversary of the Yom Kippur War that saw a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria attacking Israel.

Blinken previewed in his State of the Union interview on Sunday that there could be an announcement later in the day about additional assistance for Israel.

‘Our first focus is to make sure Israel has what it needs,’ Blinken told CNN host Bash. ‘We are looking at additional requests the Israelis have made.’

He previewed: ‘I think you’re likely to hear more about that later today.’
