The trailer begins with Liza moving into a roadside motel with her daughter, eating Ramen noodles and other junk food, and depressingly watching her car getting towed.
She vows to improve her life and persuades Pete to hire her: ‘Give me a shot, please,’ she whispers, before he ultimately agrees. ‘Don’t embarrass me,’ he replies.
Soon after she learns just how life-changing the job can be.
‘Get a doctor to prescribe your drug,’ Pete instructs her. ‘You know what we bill on a full dose script?’
‘What?’ she asks. ‘Forty grand,’ he replies.
‘A year?’ she clarifies. ‘A month,’ he says.
Despite the dreamy numbers, deep down Liza knows something is off. ‘On some level, I knew it was bulls**t,’ she can be heard saying.
Still, she moves past her reservations and gets to work, attempting to persuade doctor after doctor into prescribing the medication before she successfully lands one.
Her hard work pays off, as Pete informs her she will be making $600K that year – $500K more than she had been anticipating.
