A mom is who obsessed with Halloween has been praised for her kindness after she removed her ‘morbid’ decorations when her neighbor was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Salena Webb’s favorite time of the year is spooky season, as she prepares for October 31 months in advance by putting up scary decorations.
This year, the South Carolina-based mom-of-four transformed her front yard into a graveyard by filling it with cardboard tombstones, spiderwebs, and two skeletons holding a casket.
However, Salena’s excitement about the spooky day was brought to a halt when her neighbor’s son approached her and pleaded with her to take down the decorations after his father was tragically diagnosed with cancer.

In the video, which has now amassed over 1.2 million views, Salena shared the moment her neighbor’s son came to her door.
In the clip, the neighbor said: ‘Hey, I know you’re celebrating Halloween and all that stuff.
‘My father just got diagnosed with lung cancer the other day and you know, the whole thing is just kind of scary,’ the unnamed man said.
He then asked if Salena would mind taking down the ‘casket’ so that his father wasn’t reminded of his diagnosis all the time.
The clip then cuts to Salena’s fiancé removing the casket, with the mom-of-four adding, ‘We took it down because kindness is free.’
She captioned the video: ‘My family knows I love Halloween and my decorations took me a while to make and put up. I had just purchased the skeleton carrying the casket to go along with my graveyard to really set my Halloween décor off this year.
‘I was a little sad at first but I thought about the bigger picture. Me removing my casket isn’t hurting me at all but it may ease and bring my neighbor a little bit of peace as he adjusts to this news.
‘Kindness is free and compassion goes a long way.’
