A sex attacker allegedly raped two elderly women aged 93 and 95 in a French hospital before one of his victims died of a heart attack, it has emerged.
The 44-year-old man, identified only as Samir B., was arrested on Saturday after entering his victims’ rooms in the geriatrics department of Argenteuil Hospital on the outskirts of Paris and launching his attack.
He was caught after the 95-year-old alerted staff and told them she had just been raped by the man, French newspapers report.
Samir B. was intercepted by security after leaving the room of a 93-year-old woman suffering psychological disorders around 4.30pm. His semen was later found on her bed sheets.
The woman reported feeling unwell just a few hours after the attack and lost consciousness around 7pm.

She was later pronounced dead after reportedly having a heart attack.
Samir B., who is already known to French police for acts of sexual assault, was later arrested by police and remains in custody.
The Pontoise public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into sexual assault, according to Le Parisien.
It is not known whether Samir B. will face charges connected to the 93-year-old’s death shortly after the alleged assault.
An autopsy into her death is set to take place today to determine the cause of death.
‘At this stage, no conclusion can be made and investigations are ongoing,’ the Pontoise public prosecutor’s office told Le Parisien.
