A ten-year-old girl was fatally truck by a train after fainting and falling onto subway tracks during rush hour in Queens Tuesday. 

She lost consciousness at 6:39am and fell onto the tracks at the 74th Street-Broadway station. Seconds later, she was struck by a southbound E train heading into the station. 

Emergency medical services rushed to the scene and pronounced her death. Police confirmed to MailOnline.com that non criminal activity was involved. 

The teen peered over the edge of the platform to look for the train, appeared to faint and fell onto the tracks, according to the police. 

Cops said the teen girl suffered a medical episode and fell unconscious from the platform. 

The ten-year-old victim has not been identified, as the police are notifying her family.

The NYPD has reviewed the station surveillance cameras but has not released any footage.

The victim was pulled from the tracks and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital last year. The ten-year-old is not identified 

The NYPD posted train safety tips on its social media for students commuting to schools

The case is being investigated as an accident, and an autopsy by the city medical examiner is expected to determine how she died. 

On Tuesday morning, around 40 minutes before the tragedy, the NYPD posted train safety tips on its social media. 

‘Students are heading to school again. Be mindful of the safety of your own and others as you use mass transit to commute throughout the city,’ the post read. 

Students are advised to ‘stand back from the edge of the platform’ and ‘not ride between cars’.

‘Never jump onto the tracks for any reason. Do not attempt to get on the train after it has started moving,’ the police wrote.
