A young passenger has been kicked off a Jetstar flight to Bali by police after he was caught vaping in the plane’s toilet.

The man had set off the aircraft’s smoke alarm just before the flight from Sydney to the Indonesian holiday spot was due to take off on October 4.

Footage of the passenger being removed from the plane by AFP officers has since circulated online and shows the man in a green shirt carrying his suitcase down the aisle.

‘Don’t vape on planes you guys,’ the caption on the video reads.

Jetstar confirmed the passenger had been removed from the plane.

‘Customers cannot vape on a plane, it’s as simple as that,’ an airline spokesman said.

‘The use of all types of e-cigarettes on aircraft is strictly prohibited.

‘The vapor set off the aircraft’s smoke alarms prior to departure and our crew called the AFP to assist with removing the passenger. Safety is our top priority, and this type of behaviour will never be tolerated by our crew.’

Some commenters on he video revealed  they had vaped on board flights and got away with it.

‘Seems like he’s just inexperienced, I’ve never had an issue,’ one said.

‘Done it so many times,’ said another.

Others said it was ‘sad’ people were not capable of going that long without using a vape.

‘The lack of self control is amazing,’ one said.
