A person has died after being struck by a train leading to delays along one of Sydney‘s busiest rail lines.

The person was fatally hit by the train at Minto Station, in Sydney’s southwest, at about 9:29am on Monday morning.

The train was travelling along the T8 Airport and South Line, leading to major delays in both directions.

Trains have been halted between Ingleburn and Macarthur stations as emergency services attend to the scene.

Buses now replace trains in both directions.

‘Please allow extra travel time and message us if you need help travelling,’ Sydney Trains wrote on X, formerly Twitter
