A Florida mom, 33, has been arrested after allegedly leaving her two-year-old and eight-month-old baby alone in a car while she went to a bar.
Jamie Leigh Gunn was charged with child neglect after a patrol officer spotted her two kids asleep in the backseat of a black SUV parked on Minton Road, Florida on Sunday.
Police said Gunn had been inside Penny Annie’s Bar for at least 20 minutes while her young children were left unattended in the unlocked, running vehicle.
Gunn was taken to the Brevard County Jail where she was held on a $15,000 bond before being released on Monday, according to the West Melbourne Police Department.

‘When Gunn learned law enforcement was outside with her vehicle, she was more concerned about going to jail, than the welfare of her children,’ police said.
Gunn’s children are now in the custody of a family member but it remains unclear who they were given to.
The Department of Children and Families has also been contacted to conduct a follow-up investigation into the shocking incident.
The 33-year-old has a hefty rap sheet which includes contempt of court, forgery, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.
It remains unclear if her license remains suspended.

Apart from this most recent arrest, Gunn was taken into custody July 2022 when she was charged with a fail-to-appear misdemeanor for one of her prior crimes.
Brevard County Sheriff’s Office records show that she was also arrested in 2010 for a fail-to-appear felony but more details were not provided.
DailyMail.com has contacted West Melbourne Police Department and Gunn for comments.
When speaking with Penny Annie bar, a member of staff gave little detail about Gunn being there and said they ‘hadn’t seen her for a long time.’
When asked if other employees had seen Gunn that night, the staffer said: ‘We have nothing to say about it.’
