Pro-Palestinian Rep. Rashida Tlaib has accused Biden of genocide and demanded a ceasefire as she threatened electoral consequences in 2024.
Tlaib posted a video to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday showing pro-Palestinian marches around the country and harrowing images from the Middle East conflict as she made the comments.
Biden’s declaration that the U.S. stands with Israel and opposes a ceasefire is spliced together with the harrowing imagery as she tells him ‘the majority of the American people are not with you on this one.’
Scenes also included protestors chanting from Ohio ‘No peace on stolen land!’ Illinois, ‘Free! Free! Palestine!’ and Michigan ‘From the river to the sea.’
The video ended with Tlaib saying, ‘We will remember in 2024,’ before the words ‘Joe Biden supported the geocide of the Palestinian people,’ appeared on the screen.
The ‘Squad’ member faced a slew of backlash for the post with people accusing her of antisemitism and disputing her claims.
Tlaib is a member of the ‘Squad’ an informal group of eight Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives who are known for being among the most progressive and left-wing members of the United States Congress.

It was followed with the demand for him to immediately support a ceasefire ‘or don’t count on us in 2024.’
The Biden administration has strongly backed Israel in its conflict against Hamas, including pledging billions in aid.
In recent days, the administration has called for a ‘humanitarian pause’ in the war in order to assist Gaza civilians.
Tlaib, who is of Palestinian heritage, has been one of the loudest voices in Congress in favor of a full ceasefire in the Middle Eastern conflict and has openly spoken on the conflict over a number of years.
Over a dozen House Democrats, Tlaib included, signed a resolution backing a ceasefire last month.
The war began in October when Hamas terrorists launched a brutal and bloody attack on Israel killing thousands of Israeli civilians.
In response Israel sent airstrikes and a recent ground offensive killing over 9,200 Palestinian people, including over 3,800 children, according to the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry.

Brutal clashes have been captured among police and protestors as emotions run high
Humanitarian organizations have described the situation in Gaza as dire where more than a million people have been displaced and food, water and medical supplies are beginning to run dry.
Israeli air strikes leveled entire neighborhoods as they briefly cut off all communication in the territory last week.
Gaza is still without fuel deliveries due to an Israeli blockade, which United Nations leaders have warned will likely lead to an end of aid deliveries.
The blockade could also result in the territory going without power, including at critical hospitals in the region where some displaced families have sought refuge.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Israel on Friday to advocate for the Biden administration’s proposal of a temporary humanitarian pause in the conflict.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signaled that no such pause is on the cards.
The Biden administration has sworn off a complete ceasefire – which Tlaib has advocated for.
The Michigan Democrat also faced down House censure threat this week over previous comments viewed as critical of the Israeli state.

A multitude of X users called Tlaib’s post ‘disturbing,’ accusing the U.S. lawmaker of antisemitism and disputed her claim that most American’s don’t want to back Biden
More than 20 Republicans joined all Democrats in killing that measure on Wednesday.
Recent polling suggests that Biden’s pro-Israel stance has severely hurt Democrats’ appeal amongst Muslim and Arab-Americans.
The community is deemed a key demographic in the swing state of Michigan.
This is especially true in Tlaib’s Detroit-area district, which holds the highest density of Arab-Americans in the country.
Tlaib’s comments were not without controversy, with many deeming her video and post anti-semitic as emotions boil over across the globe while the war rages on.

South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott wrote: ‘Insane. Rashida Tlaib is literally an extension of the propaganda machine of Hamas.’
Digital strategist Greg Price said the inclusion of the chant ‘from the river to the sea’ is ‘Tlaib endorsing the genocide of Israel while accusing Biden of supporting genocide.’

Former staffer for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Steve Guest wrote: ‘In case you were wondering just how antisemitic Democrat Rep. Rashida Tlaib is, look no further than this.
‘Not only did she make a video supporting the vile ‘from the river to the sea’ chant, she accused Joe Biden of supporting genocide.’
‘She’s actually calling for the annihilation of Israel and genocide for me and my family, as well as all other Jews here. So yes, we will remember in 2024,’ Jewish columnist Nadav Eyal explained.
Meanwhile, Israel’s rapid response X account ‘Israel War Room’ shared Tlaib’s post and said: ‘In an ad attacking @POTUS, @RashidaTlaib amplifies calls for genocide against Israeli Jews.’
Following backlash, Tlaib claimed: ‘From the river to the sea is an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence, not death, destruction, or hate.
‘My work and advocacy is always centered in justice and dignity for all people no matter faith or ethnicity.’
